El sábado asistimos a la Feria Tecnociencia en el Planetario de Pamplona, donde pudimos escuchar muchas charlas científicas de unos 5 minutos. Durante el descanso de la mañana pudimos hablar con Hugo Salas, un compañero que trabajará como nosotros durante todo el verano para presentar su proyecto en Boston. Participará con el equipo de la UPNA, que juntos formaremos los dos únicos equipos iGEM navarros. Después Sara Iglesias y él explicaron delante del público en qué consistirá su proyecto, donde tratarán de crear un sistema que actúe como un biosensor.
Durante la mañana también, nuestros compañeros de Laikasat nos explicaron cómo consiguieron mandar un satélite del tamaño de una lata a unos 1000 metros de altura para después aterrizar de forma controlada mientras recopila datos durante su descenso.
A la tarde hemos asistido a una charla impartida por tres agentes de la Policía Foral titulada De la escena del delito al juzgado. En ella los agentes de la División de Policía Científica nos han hablado acerca la importancia del ADN en sus investigaciones. Ellos, como parte de la Brigada Criminalística de Laboratorio, nos han explicado cómo se obtienen pruebas y se examinan y para ello, aparte de hablar al respecto también han llevado a cabo varios experimentos.
Al finalizar la charla se dio paso al primer equipo Biogalaxy que presentó su proyecto como parte de la Feria Tecnociencia 2019. Al finalizar su presentación, se realizó el cambio de testigo en el cual nos dieron el relevo del proyecto junto con el banner de una forma simbólica y cada uno de nosotros nos presentamos en el escenario.
NavarraBG: We participate in the Technoscience Fair, a day full of science and technology
On Saturday, we attended the Technoscience Fair in the Pamplona’s Planetarium were we were able to listen to many scientific talks of about 5 minutes. During the morning’s break, we could talk to Hugo Salas, a mate who will work like us along the summer in order to present his project in Boston. He will participate within the UPNA’s team, that together with us we will form the only two iGEM Navarre teams. Afterward, Sara Iglesias and him explained in front of all the public, in what it is going to consist of their project, were they will try to create a system that works as a biosensor.
Also during the morning, our Laikasat partners explained how they managed to send a satellite the size of a can at a height of 1000 meters. They explained how this satellite landed in a controlled manner and how it collected different data at the time it was falling.
In the afternoon we attended a talk given by three officers of the autonomous police force of Navarre titled "De la escena del delito al juzgado". In it, the agents of the Division of the Scientific Police talked about the importance of DNA in their investigations. As members of the Criminalistics Laboratory Brigade, they explained how to obtain and examine evidence. They not only talked about it but they also carry out several experiments.
At the end of the talk, the first Biogalaxy team presented their project as part of the Technoscience Fair 2019. When they finished their presentation, the relay took place, where we assumed the relay of the project and they gave us the banner in a symbolic way.
